I am pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition at the Marvin D. Rouse Studio Gallery featuring the work of artist Mariapia Malerba.
The exhibition, titled a new era, a new me” takes us on a life journey with “FLORIDA & LACE” in “BUTTERFLY GATE,” showcasing Mariapia’s latest body of work. Her art beautifully weaves together the essence of her Italian heritage—specifically the intricate lace and embroidery traditions of her youth in Puglia—with the vivid inspirations she has discovered in Southwest Florida since moving to the US in 2010.
Before emerging as an accomplished artist and art installation designer, Mariapia’s vision was shaped by her experience as a textile designer for global fashion houses such as Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Cavalli. This exhibition marks a "New Era" for the artist, introducing six new 36” x 36” works being exhibited for the first time.
We invite you to join us at the gallery to experience these handcrafted rhythms, textures, and patterns in person.

Meet the artist
Marvin D. Rouse is a multi-talented artist based in Naples, Florida. At the age of five, he first discovered his passion for art and started his own business at eighteen. Since then, Rouse Designs, LLC has provided creative services to the community for over 25 years, focusing on abstract works that express love and happiness. Rouse has exhibited his work in several shows and supports multiple local organizations through his art. His paintings are collected and displayed in prestigious locations Across The nation.

“Her works capture the beauty of the Florida Keys, the various Islands, and the sea life she has painted during her travels throughout the state. I love the colors and textured brushstrokes in her work. I was so excited she accepted my invitation to exhibit for a solo show in my gallery this 2024 season.”
